Under the High patronage of the Ministry of Startups and Knowledge Economy, FUTURIS Institute (Private university in Entrepreneurship, Technology & Innovation) in Algeria is delighted to launch its 2nd Edition of the Algeria IoT & AI Challenge. This time we’re offering two tracks: (1) Startups and (2) Graduation Projects

Team registration will close on Sunday the 4th of August 2023 at 11:59 pm (GMT +3).
Interested teams may participate in either of two tracks: ‘Startups’ or ‘Graduation Project’.
The challenge is open to all and any IoT or AI application in any industrial, healthcare, financial or commercial sector regardless of which college the team belongs to. Multidisciplinary and cross-college teams are highly encouraged.
The selected teams will be trained in person by world-Class innovator, coach and scholar, Dr. Lotfi Belkhir, co-founder and Academic Director of Futuris Institute.

Up to 20 teams will be selected to move to the training phase; where participants will receive additional expert training and coaching.
Depending on the number of initial registrations, up to 3 teams will qualify to compete in the finals in Dubai; where each team will be represented by one member, who will receive a fully paid trip to Dubai. The National Challenge offers top tier training, mentorship, media exposure, networking opportunities and equity-free prize money to the winners. For more information, please visit www.arabiotai.org
Important Note:
For this inaugural edition of DISCA, we are limiting the number of participating countries to 12 African countries only. The selection of these countries will be based on the number of valid and qualified 3-min video submissions for each country. The countries with the 12 highest numbers of submissions shall qualify to send their local winners to the continental challenge finale in Algiers. The travel and lodging costs of the local winners shall be assumed by FUTURIS Institute and its patrons.

1. Do I have to have a ready idea to register?
Yes, but this challenge is exclusive to pre-seed projects only. Any startup that has a finished product and sales (no matter how small) is not qualified to apply.
2. Do I have to have a team or can I register solo?
Solo registration shall be rejected. You must have a team with a minimum of 2 teammates, and a maximum of 8 (including yourself).
2. Is the challenge open to University professors or mixed teams that include University professors?
Yes. Participation of University faculty and researchers in any form is highly encouraged
